This tranquil early morning snapshot captures fog from the warm air hovering atop the cool water. What your looking at is
our once very popular heated fishing dock. Twenty-five years ago heated fishing docks were a common part of the family operated Lake of the
Ozarks resort experience. A heated fishing dock is a covered building with a hole in the middle that people sit around and fish from. For winter
months these fishing docks had wood burning stoves in them to heat the building.
Lake of the Ozarks is one of the most popular fishing destinations in the Midwest. Prime fishing targets are Largemouth bass,
crappie, white bass, hybrid striped bass, catfish and walleye. Almost anytime of the year you will find good fishing.
The Lake of the Ozarks hosts hundreds of bass fishing tournaments each year both amateur and pro including the Bass Masters annual tournament.
