Fireworks on major holidays celebrated in the USA are very spectacular at Lake of the Ozarks. Many years its seems there is competition between Lodge of the Four Seasons and Marriott's Tan Tar-A, although they will not admit it. It seems the majority of the time both facilities will do the holiday fireworks display on the same day. Regardless if the fireworks display is actually done on the date of the holiday or a day before or after, depending on which day of the week the holiday is. Some years to the delight of many tourists and boaters they do them on different nights. When out in a boat watching the fireworks you just cannot go wrong. They are great at a distance and they are good close up, both have advantages over the other. It cannot help to bring a smile to your face when you see a fireworks display like in the picture above and you hear a thousand boats all beeping there horns in approval for a couple minutes. Just seeing all the lights on the boats stopped or anchored waiting to see the next round of fireworks is a sight in itself. Firework displays are NOT limited to the 2 facilities mentioned above. The most popular way is by boat. However watching from land is also popular. As a tourist finding a spot by land or water is pretty easy. Fireworks start after its been totally dark for awhile. So get out in car or boat a bit before sunset and head toward either destination. Just look for others parked here or there... Another common question is what day are they being displayed on.
